People know us for more than our physical appearance.
They know us by things that cannot be seen. Often it's
our response to a situation in life. Problems take place
and we may lose control or become impatient! As we
grow in relationship to God, we become less reactive. We
learn that God is in control, that he is with us, and that he
knows what to do. This calms us and reassures us. Our
character then becomes softer. As Christians we learn
that the tests, trials, and problems that we face are only
temporary. We also learn that God has made very
special promises.

Jesus told us (Matthew 11:28, 29) that he would bear the
burdens of those who come to him. What a wonderful

If you're like me, the first response to a challenge is to
try and think of a way to get out of the problem, but
Jesus said, "Come to me".  The reason that we are to go
to Jesus is that he is all-powerful and has all the
information. We are limited in what we can do but he is
not! Added to that is the truth that God is the one who
frees us from the weight of sin. Why carry a heavy
burden of sin? What will it do but eventually destroy us.

David wrote a Psalm of praise that we can meditate on:
"Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, The
God who is our salvation." (Psalm 68:19)

David was a sinner. Most of us will never commit such
grievous sins as David did. He had a man murdered so
that he could take the man's wife.
David had to live with
the effects of this terrible sin but he saw that God could,
would, and did forgive and free him from the burden of

If you struggle with "pet sins" or tend to carry the
problems of life, I have good news for you.

Jesus said, "Come to me all you who are weary and
burdened down, and I will give you rest"
(Matthew 11:28)

God is your burden bearer. He has very wide and strong
shoulders to carry whatever you are facing and whatever
you will face! So give to Jesus what concerns you.

Meditate on the truth of who God is and worship him.
He is your Burden Bearer!
