Focus on God

Someone once complained, "it makes no sense to go
to church every Sunday. I've gone for 30 years now
and in that time I have heard something like 3,000
sermons. But for the life of me I can't remember a
single one of them. So I think I'm wasting my time and
the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at

A wise man responded, "I've been married for 30
years now. In that time my wife has cooked some
32,000 meals. But for the life of me, I cannot recall
the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I
do know this: They all nourished me and gave me the
strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not
given me those meals, I would be physically dead
today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for
nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today."*

Just because you worshiped the Lord with all your
heart, yesterday or last week, does not mean that you
don't need to today. In fact, everyday that God gives
us breath gives us more reasons to worship! A
thankful heart is part of worship, but that's not all.

The wise and intelligent person will see that God is
worthy of all worship. Not only does he do incredible
things, he is incredible! Who else can be as
loving and
kind as he? Who else is as giving as he? His
greatness is overwhelming unless you're not looking
for him. Romans 1:20 says, "Since the creation of the
world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and
divine nature, have been clearly seen, being
understood through what has been made."

A fresh glimpse of who God is will cause us to worship
with all that we are.
